The power of Emotional Intelligence in HandsUp: empowering empathy and inclusivity

On 7th May 2025, at our lecture for Professor Theodosios Palaskas’ course “Special Topics in Applied Business and Organizational Management” as part of the Master's program in “Applied Economics & Management” at Panteion University, we had the pleasure of welcoming George Stathis Greek Sign Language interpreter, founder of HandsUp: Sign Language Interpreting Agency and president of the Association of Greek Sign Language Interpreters.
Through a fruitful dialogue, George Stathis helped us delve into issues of social entrepreneurship, highlighting the role of emotional intelligence and psychomanagement as critical components of modern, humane, and meaningful leadership.
At the same time, with remarkable sensitivity and clarity, he introduced us to the world of sign language, encouraging us to view deafness not as a disability, but as an equal linguistic and cultural identity.
